Marketing Manager

The Position:

 

The Marketing Manager is a full-time position to implement a broad array of creative marketing programs which generate traffic and revenue for the museum and education programs. Marketing duties include creating effective promotions, web site maintenance, creation of flyers, collateral and ads using consistent themes and branding, promoting the Center’s existing and upcoming exhibits and programs, and assisting with special events. Results are analyzed by measuring the revenue that the marketing strategies generate for the Center’s programs. Skills/Qualifications:

 

* Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Communication or similar field.

* Excellent communication, presentation, and customer service skills
* Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills including the ability to track
results, follow a budget and work under deadlines
* Self-starter and ability to work independently
* Computer Skills including Microsoft Office required
* Advanced Social Media skills
* Quark, Adobe, Publisher, or similar publishing software experience required and samples of collateral material created must be provided
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to the benefit of the overall business
and facility
* Interest in space, science, aeronautics, and museums is preferred

 

 

Requirements:
-Job is based at Challenger Space Center, 21770 N. 83rd Ave., Peoria. Must have transportation to and from work.
-Must be able to lift 50 pounds and move objects such as tables, chairs, boxes,
equipment, banners, and other items to prepare for events inside and outside the Center at all times of year. At times standing on footstools and ladders is necessary.
-Standing, crouching, loading, bending, lifting, stooping and stepping are
necessary.
-Must be able to occasionally work weekends and evenings

 

-Must be able to occasionally serve as Manager On Duty for the museum on a rotating basis with management team

 

-Must feel comfortable working with volunteers-encourage, respect and value their gifts of time, talent and dedication to our mission
-Must be able to work in heat and other inclement weather conditions interior and
exterior.
-Est. Work Schedule: (subject to change with scheduled events and promotions)
Mon. – Fri., 8 am – 5 pm, with an hour for lunch. Evenings and weekends as needed based on events and promotions.

Compensation:

 

Salaried Position: $30,000/year base + commission
