Gregory served on the seven-person astronomical research mission to launch the Astro-2 satellite aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour in 1995. Gregory has logged more than 400 hours in space, has flown more than 40 types of aircraft, and has accumulated more than 5,000 hours of flight time. He retired from the Air Force and left NASA in 1999, and is presently an Advanced Instructor Pilot at Aviation Performance Solutions in Mesa, AZ.
Challenger Space Center Arizona will present the Chairman’s Award to four shining stars, including: Founder’s Supernova Award, Stellar Partner of the Year, Beacon Award for Volunteerism, and Challenger Educator of the Year Award.
