Mercury Summer Camp
(Entering 2nd & 3rd Grades)

Mercury campers can attend either the morning or afternoon session or can combine both for a full-day camp experience. Each session includes age-appropriate hands-on activities and fun projects. Full-day campers must bring a sack lunch.
Maximum enrollment: 25 children per session.
$110 per half-day session (5 days), per child, per week. OR
$220 per full-day session (5 days), per child, per week.
Half day sessions are 9:00am-12:00pm or 1:00pm-4:00pm.
Full day sessions are 9:00am-4:00pm
Challenger Space Center doors open at 8:30am for camp check in. Any child not picked up by 4:00pm will be automatically enrolled in after-care (if not already registered) and a $10 fee will apply. A $1/minute fee will be charged for each child not picked up by 12:00pm (for half-day camp) or 5:30pm.
Mercury 2016 Camp Themes:
Forces of Nature: What do you know about light, electricity and magnetism? What about gravity? Explore some of the interesting behaviors of these basic forces.

What’s the Matter: What are the basic forms of matter we know about in our universe? How do the building blocks of matter affect the properties we observe on a larger scale? Explore how scientists can make familiar materials behave in strange ways!

Engineering the Future: Do you like to make things? Budding engineers will learn about the engineering design process and construct simple functioning gadgets during this hands-on camp!

Scale the Solar System: You don’t need to travel to another galaxy to find fascinating objects in space! Learn about our own amazing solar system, and some of the latest discoveries in our own cosmic “backyard”!
