What’s a simulated space mission?
Families, friends, and teams of co-workers are invited to the Challenger Space Center to participate in an exciting space-based learning environment where children, families, senior citizens, corporate teams and other community members fly simulated space flight missions involving flight crews, mission controllers and scientists.
The Challenger Space Center’s Technology Flight Deck features over $1 million in technology, including a Mission Control room designed after Johnson Space Center; the Spacecraft, designed to simulate a room onboard the International Space Station (ISS); and the ESTM, or Earth Space Transit Module, which transports teams of crewmembers up to dock with the ISS so they can live and work in space.

Take part in a daring trek of exploration as, once again, comet Encke travels close to the Sun and Earth. This time, human space travelers, as well as space probes, will undertake scientific missions to the great comet. Years of planning and hard work have been invested to get to this vital moment.
Team members in both the Spacecraft and Mission Control must work together to rendezvous with the comet’s tail, and successfully launch a scientific probe. Along the way, team members will also encounter many important tasks that need to be performed. Journey with us on this important mission; the great comet awaits!

The time frame of this mission is sometime in the not-too-distant future, when humans have established a permanent base on Mars. Crew members will serve as the first crew on Mars and the relief crew en route to the planet. While on the Martian surface, the team will have collected and analyzed a great number of planetary samples and data.
This information is vital to scientists for a better understanding of the planet Mars. Crew members also will have gained an appreciation for the “luxuries” of planet Earth such as air, water and food as compared to a barren planet such as Mars.
WEEKEND MISSIONS:
Missions fly ONCE a month (dates noted above) with the exceptions of matinee missions, holiday missions, and private missions. With enough guests we are able to open multiple missions.
Saturday Missions launch at 1:00pm and will fly for aproximately 2-2 1/2 hours
Adults: $22.50/person (with membership | $16.86)
Children & Seniors: $19.50 (with membership | $14.63)
Big Brothers Big Sisters: $16.00/ “Match” (the “little” is FREE!)
Military & accompanying family: $17.00/person (with valid ID)
Group (16+ people): $17.50/person
General Admission to Challenger Space Center Museum IS included with a mission boarding pass.

Mission dates, once booked, are non-refundable and a minimum number of participants (16) is required for each mission.
