Telescope viewing will be available as weather permits. Other activities inside such as telescope demonstrations, Scout Corner, night sky folklore and family activities will go on rain or shine.

On select weekends, Challenger Space Center hosts an entertaining and interactive astronomy night that is fun for the whole family.


Family STAR Night Activities: 6:30 - 9 p.m.

The doors open at 6:30pm for fun hands-on activities, a simulated launch into space and our new "Scout Corner". At approximately 7:30pm, professional stargazer Tony LaConte gives an amazing interactive slide presentation on constellations, planets and upcoming sky events. Included are stories of the night sky, featuring folklore from many different cultures. 


"Scout Corner" will take place after the presentation. Weather permitting; attendees will have the opportunity to look through several different high-powered telescopes at the moon, planets, star clusters and more.

 

Scout Groups: please call 623.322.2001 at least one week ahead to reserve Scout Activity Packets for your group. This program addresses many of the Merit Badge, Belt Loop and Education Pin requirements for Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts.

$7 Per Person / $15 per Scout (includes packet & patch)

The Challenger Space Center will provide special accommodations for disabled individuals, including sign language interpreters, with advance notice of at least five days prior to attending the Challenger Space Center programs.
