Binocular and telescope basics are explained, and the limitations of size and types are discussed. Learn to identify the constellations and listen to sky folklore; learn how to use planispheres and star charts to find your way to interesting objects to observe; learn how to set-up and use a telescope. Observe the moon, planets, stars, nebulae, and galaxies. See detailed views of craters on the moon, the cloud bands of Jupiter, the rings of Saturn, nebulae, and galaxies millions of light-years away. Also learn simple techniques for photographing the night sky and the moon. Photographic equipment will be available for your use or bring your own.
