On Saturday, June 14, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm, the Challenger Space Center will feature a special day for Educators. All Educators will receive a discounted admission price of $4 (general admission is $6) with their school i.d. badge.
Challenger Space Center Educators Day is sponsored by APS, and will feature curriculum, demonstrations, door prizes, and speakers. Challenger programs will be on display and/or demonstrated as well, including the newly announced distance learning scenario, e-Mission: Operation Montserrat. A detailed schedule of events will be available on Tuesday, June 10.
On display will be several new exhibits, including the Space Weather Center, developed by the Space Science Institute of Boulder, Colorado; Space Toys, on long term loan from Mr. Armando Bras; the Kalusa Miniature Airplane Collection, on loan from Embry-Riddle University; and a 10-foot-high model of the Space Shuttle Atlantis, recently donated by Honeywell.
