10 OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD WAYS TO CELEBRATE SPACE AND SPACE DAY!

Thursday, May 1 2003

REMINDER: In celebration of National Space Day on Thursday, May 1, the Challenger Space Center will be providing out-of-this-world experiences to nearly 200 students throughout the day. As a national sponsor of Space Day, Lockheed Martin will be providing free giveaways to students, teachers, and members of the public who visit the Center on Space Day.

Here is a list of 10 Out-of-This-World Ways To Celebrate Space, including web links. Enjoy!

TOP 10 WAYS TO CELEBRATE SPACE!

Hitch a ride on the Space Day web site, www.spaceday.com , and check out some out-of-this world Space Day activities!

#10. TAKE OFF! Destination Moon, our omnipresent satellite.
#9. Mars Madness! Mars Madness! (Oh, and did we mention Mars Madness!?)
#8. The U.S. Navy wants you… to see the phases of the Moon. View any day in the next (or last) two hundred years.
#7. Let’s settle this once and for all: Is Pluto a planet? Or just a wanna-be?
#6. Hollywood has its share of stars. But we’ve got more. See how much you know about the real thing.
#5. Are we alone in the Universe? An excellent question. And one that deserves an answer.
#4. Eye-poppers galore: Peep at these way-cool space pix taken by the Hubble Space Telescope.
#3. Most celestial bodies are named after someone. Learn about the warriors, lovers, heroes, and villains of mythology.
#2. Visit the U.S.A.’s gateway to the universe. It’s called the Kennedy Space Center.

AND FINALLY…

THE #1 REASON TO CELEBRATE SPACE…

Shut down the computer,
go outside,
and look up at the night sky.

It’s the best sight of them all.
