POSITION: Night Custodian, Full Time
LOCATION: Challenger Space Science Center Challenger Space Science Center
21170 N. 83rd Ave., Peoria AZ
SALARY: $9.50 per hour
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Open until filled
WORK SCHEDULE: Full Time, 12 months, 40 hours per week 11:00 am – 8:00 pm, Tuesday through Saturday
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Maintains facility and surrounding premises in a clean and orderly manner.
  2. Cleans offices and classrooms, including sinks, cabinets, emptying trash, vacuuming, etc.
  3. Scrub, mop, disinfect and polish hard surfaces in halls and all rooms, restrooms, cafeteria and other areas.
  4. Vacuum and shampoo carpeted areas on a regular basis.
  5. Washes windows and strip/polish floor surfaces as necessary.
  6. Paint walls and perform minor repairs as needed.
  7. Assist with set-up and clean up for special events.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. At least one-year work experience required; prefer work experience as a custodian or general maintenance person.
  2. Must be 18 years of age and high school graduate or have GED.
  3. Must be able to read and speak English language.
  4. Ability to perform strenuous physical activity, including lifting items weighing 50 pounds, moving items up to 120 pounds; able to climb ladders and work from heights.
  5. Ability to learn various cleaning methods, such as stripping and waxing floor areas, carpet cleaning, sanitizing procedures, etc.
  6. Ability to withstand odors and fumes from various cleaning and sanitizing products.
  7. Possess current Arizona driver’s license and good driving record.
  8. Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with co-workers, students, visitors and staff.
  9. Performs as a team member
