What are meteorites and where do they come from?

How do we know they’re from space?

What are the different types of meteorites?

The Challenger Space Center has received a variety of 13 meteorites on extended loan from the ASU Center for Meteorite Studies. Visitors to Challenger Space Center have the opportunity to see samples of all types of Meteorites and experience hands on space science!

About the ASU Center for Meteorite Studies

The ASU Center for Meteorite Studies seeks to create new knowledge about the origin of our planetary system so that they may understand the pathway to forming habitable worlds. At the center of these studies are meteorites, rocks from outer space, that bore witness to the birth of our system of Sun and planets. The ASU Center for Meteorite Studies houses the largest University-based meteorite collection in the world, with over 1500 specimens.
