Student Field Trips
Tour
A Docent-led tour of the Challenger Learning Center of Arizona
includes the six-story, rotunda-wrapping mural, "Tour of the
Universe", painted by NASA’s official artist, Mr. Robert McCall. The
tour also includes an age appropriate talk about Architecture as Art
as it relates to the building, and the Center’s interactive exhibit
area. Docents customize the tour to fit the age of the group.
Space Videos
Tour
participants are invited to visit our space theater and view a
thirty-minute video, which is chosen from a list of IMAX quality space
videos. Titles include Mission to Mir, To Be An Astronaut,
Destiny In Space, Blast Off! and more.
ESTM
A
fifteen-minute experience in our one-of-a-kind Earth Space Transit
Module features a simulated space launch, including liftoff from Earth,
and rendezvous with a space station. So visual and engaging, students
have actually asked, “Wow, did we really leave Earth?!” (ESTM is
based on availability.)
Activities
“Fun” is
the name of the game during our interactive space-themed instructional
activities. Taught by our professional Science Educators and Flight
Directors, all activities are tailored to be age and/or grade
appropriate.
