Challenger Space Center programs help thousands of students develop the skills that are vital to every professional field. Like no other educational opportunity, Challenger Space Center programs foster science and math literacy, and help students develop the higher level critical thinking skills that companies increasingly demand from their employees.

These high tech, high touch programs are molding the community and workforce leaders of the future, helping children understand the importance of math, science and technology, along with teamwork, problem-solving, leadership and decision-making.

As a “stand-alone” Arizona based 501(c)(3) nonprofit institution, the dollars that we need to raise each year to continue our operations and programs must come from either admissions, memberships, program services, gift shop sales, facility rentals, or private contributions.

Although we receive generous support from many foundations and corporations, it is still the contributions that we receive from individual donors each year that is vital to keeping our doors open and keeping our programs available to schools, families and children. You can help support the Challenger Space Center in a number of ways.

The Challenger Space Center receives no funding support from NASA, the Smithsonian, the federal government or the United Way.

5 Easy Ways To Give

You can donate a gift by sending us a check by making it payable to the Challenger Space Center and mailing it to:

You may also charge your gift to your credit card by calling

If you have items we may be able to use in our daily operations (such as office equipment, computers, office supplies, etc.) or services that you might be able to provide (such as landscaping, maintenance, catering, etc.) or if you have a space or aviation item you would like to discuss donating for exhibit or display, please contact the Challenger’s Development Office at 623.322.2006.

“Planned Giving” is the name commonly associated with estate planning. Including the Challenger Space Center in your Planned Giving can accomplish several major goals such as making a permanent impact on the financial stability of the Center, honoring the memory of a loved one, achieving a charitable income tax deduction or obtaining estate tax savings. Planned Gifts can include the following:

Gifts of Bequest by Will
Gifts of Securities
Gifts of Land or Personal Property
Gifts that provide income to the Donor or Beneficiary
Charitable Remainder Annuities, Trusts and Unitrusts

If you wish, the Challenger Space Center Development Office would be pleased to provide you with additional information on making a planned gift and we can provide you with the names of qualified tax attorneys, accountants and financial advisors who can advise you on the benefits of making a planned gift. Please contact the Challenger’s Development Office at 623.322.2006 and make your Planned Gift today.

For as little as $100 you can purchase a 3” x 6” donor tile to be permanently affixed to our “Honor Wall” inside the Challenger Space Center, with our Launch into Space Donation. Each tile can be worded to carry the name of a special honoree, organization, corporation or other message.

Larger tiles (6” x 6” and 12” x 12”) featuring art depicting space vehicles, astronauts and the solar system are also available at the $500 and $1,000 level.

You can also give a child a “front row seat to the future” by sponsoring a chair in either our Theater or Briefing Room (at $500 each), or a chair in our Mission Control Room (at $1,000 each) and have your name or the name that you select permanently placed on the chair.
