Astronaut – Everest Climber – Physician – Pilot - Inventor – Keynote Speaker

Dr. Scott Parazynski has lived and traveled all over the world, spending many of his grade school and high school years in places such as Dakar, Senegal; Beirut, Lebanon; Tehran, Iran; and Athens, Greece. A graduate of Stanford University and Stanford Medical School, he went on to train at Harvard and in Denver in preparation for a career in emergency medicine and trauma.

In 1992 he was selected to join NASA's Astronaut Corps and eventually flew 5 Space Shuttle Missions and conducted 7 spacewalks. Dr. Parazynski has spent over 8 weeks in space with more than 47 hours outside on spacewalks.

 Dr. Parazynski has served on the Board of Directors for  Challenger Center for Space Science Education and is presently a University Explorer and Professor of Practice at Arizona State University, an extreme adventurer, an avid space enthusiast, and a renowned keynote speaker.

This extraordinary event benefits field trip scholarships, summer camp scholarships, and public programs providing critical STEM education to ALL children, regardless of income. This summer (2015), we were able to send 40 underprivileged children to camp thanks to partners like YOU! THANK YOU for being a part of it.

Challenger Space Center Arizona will present the Chairman’s Award to four shining stars, including the Founder’s Supernova Award, Stellar Corporate Partner of the Year, Beacon Award for Volunteerism, and the Challenger Educator of the Year Award.

Sponsorships, Tables & Tickets

We are asking companies across Arizona to support Challenger’s educational, STEM-based space mission program by sponsoring an individual work station inside Challenger's exclusive space simulator. Today’s students are Arizona’s future workforce, and our unique simulator places students in the work environment of actual careers, inspiring them to visualize themselves in these positions. 
Upgrades to educational equipment include replacing switches, headsets, blood pressure devices, plexi-glass, glove box materials, robot parts, gauges and other upgrades to support Challenger’s ongoing educational mission.

Year-long Sponsorships: 

Student Work Station: $2,500 (4 available sponsors per station)  


  • Company plaque at chosen simulation station (one year)
  • Company logo on Challenger’s web site (one year) and in teacher packets (one year)
  • Opportunity for company to have a table to distribute materials one Saturday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the museum (company must supply necessary personnel and promotional materials.)
  • General Admission passes:  50 to be used for employees or clients for incentive gifts or other promotional purposes 
  • 8 Tickets (Table of 8) to Awards Ceremony, Presentation, Dinner & Cocktail Reception on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014.
